Countdown to departure!

It's January 30th and according to my countdown there are exactly 4 months, 28 days, 8 hours and 17 minutes until our departure day! We are all tired of being locked up in COVID jail and ready for a vacation! We usually travel a couple times a year and our last real vacation was in 2019, so we are really READY!

I, Lenise, will probably be writing most (all) of this blog, as I wanted a way for people to follow along with our trip and also to have it as a memory for our girls as they get older. I began planning this trip in January 2020 (a couple months before COVID lockdown) as I was in Liberia and Niger on a business trip. Although these countries weren't the "ideal" countries to travel to in Africa (per some), I was all smiles because Africa has always been on my bucket list. I was in awe at the beauty of the countries I visited, the animals and the beautiful people! I felt so comfortable and welcomed and knew this was a placed I needed to show my girls. When I came home I talked with Ajali and the planning began: Kenya 2022 to celebrate my 40th birthday, meet some of Ajali's family and give our daughters and ourselves an experience of a lifetime.
